Elgol Primary School

This is the first entry I received in our photo competition for Healthy Highland 2008! Every year we try to highlight some of the great events that have taken place in our school communities using an online photo gallery. The gallery www.ycphotogallery.co.uk uses pixelpost an opensource photoblog application which seems to be a great way to host photos and allow for strictly moderated comments in line with our e-safety policies.

Unfortunately, I’m having a few problems with spam comments being left, fortunately these don’t make the light of day as they need to be approved. I’m off today to work on the database to try and prevent this. If anyone knows of any other good simple secure photo hosting applications please let me know. But please do enjoy the photos…superb!

What a rubbish title to this post! I just thought I’d share with you all a little competition that’s going on in Highland. The Highland Council’s existing ‘Energy Champion’ role is being re-branded and will carry with it a new staff awareness raising and training programme. The new campaign will be entitled ‘Green Ambassadors’ and will focus on energy, waste and travel.

In advance of an official launch event all staff are being invited to submit their ideas for an environmental, catchy slogan to go along with the Green Ambassador scheme. (5 words maximum)

Sorry this is for The Highland Council staff only, but you can always supply me with your thoughts and words, if you’re elsewhere and I win – I’ll share the prize with you, promise! ;-)

Would be great to involve all the schools, I bet the pupils can come up with something far more catchy than us!
