New E-Safety Hub

The E-Safety Strategy Group in Highland are proud to launch their new hub for news, views, training oportunities and downloads. Please do stop by and have a look, it’s only just been launched but will be updated regularly by the team. The new E-Safety Strategy document is being typed up now and is due to be finalised and published shortly. The Cyberbullying Policy will be posted once approved by our informal Local Negotiating Commitee for Teachers.

New Cyberbullying Video from CEOP

As Safer Internet Day (week in our case up here) rolls on we’ve had another great day with events across Highland schools, some footage will be on tonight’s STV news. I thought it would be great to highlight to you this new film / resource released yesterday to coincide with Safer Internet Day.

This film produced by the European Commission has been created to raise awareness of cyberbullying. It explores how young people’s online information can be copied and distorted and the impact this can have on victims. The film also guides young people to report if they have any issues and reminds them that bullying is wrong – wherever it is perpetrated, whether online or offline.
