Safer Internet Day 2009 update
This cracking photo was taken today by local photographer Ewan Weatherspoon. The pupils are holding the new leaflet that is being sent to all pupils (35,000) to help guide them how to keep safe on the internet. Copies of the leaflet and full press release can be found here. The Safer Internet Day 2009 celebrations in Highland featured as headline news today on the local radio station Moray Firth Radio. The week long activities will also include a staff training event to all staff in a local associated school group in Badenoch & Strathspey.
The highlight so far for me was having the great opportunity of seeing the P6 pupils deliver ‘Hector the Protector’ to the P3 pupils. The P6 pupils taught them the Hector’s World song with their own actions and explored with them how to keep safe online with the help of Hector and his underwater friends. The P6 pupils also created their own ‘Safer Internet Day’ mousemats and will be having them made up for each pupil into printed mouse mats.
I was very impressed and want to thank everyone involved for making this week such a good way to raise awareness of keeping safe online.
